Grand pianos, like good whiskies, improve with age. That’s certainly true of the Steinway & Sons concert grand piano that Marietta Petkova selected for The Doelen concert hall ten years ago.

Our Steinway grand is one of The Doelen’s most beloved instruments. Particularly as time goes by and the instrument acquires a supple, mature sound, pianists praise its full, rich tone and polyphonic character. Marietta Petkova, who selected the instrument ten years ago, agrees that the grand piano has “ripened” perfectly: “It has acquired a kind of patina, and its sound is deeper and more complex; more layered”.
